I am currently living in Bethlehem ("house of meat" in Arabic and "house of bread" in Hebrew). I have spent about one year in this lovely city and will be here a few more months. Here are some thoughts and pictures about my time in this place...
These are my good friends Usama and Mira. Layth is the sweetest little baby boy you could ever imagine. Usama and Mira have been so so kind in welcoming me here. They are two of the most loving and caring people I have ever met and I am so glad they are here!

I live and work in Bethlehem at the Wi'am Palestinian Conflict Resolution Center. Life here is exciting and boring, fabulous and frustrating all at the same time - a nice fit for me. :)I continue to learn so much from the people I have met here in Bethlehem. I miss my friends and family back home, having been here for about 6 months. Yet, I would not trade this experience for the world. I still have great hope for communities in which people work together. This little town of Bethlehem is one such community. I feel certain that it is only through our relationships with others that we can fully know and understand ourselves. I think this is best summarized in Mark 12:30-31, "Love the Lord your G-d with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength... Love your neighbor as yourself."
